Residents begin moving into 39 new homes in Dún Laoghaire as Oaklee and partners mark scheme completion
Dublin, 2 April 2026 - Oaklee has marked the delivery of 39 new homes at Bentley Villas in Dún Laoghaire with a walkthrough of the completed development, attended by project partners and key stakeholders. The event brought together those involved in the scheme’s delivery to view the finished homes and mark the completion of a development that is already beginning to welcome residents.
Residents have already started moving in, with the scheme delivering much-needed high-quality sustainable homes, in a well-connected location.
The scheme offers 27 one-bed apartments, 11 two-bed apartments and one three-bed apartment for general needs social housing in Dún Laoghaire town centre. Located close to public transport, services and local amenities, it reflects Oaklee’s commitment to meeting a range of housing needs while supporting sustainable communities.
Bentley Villas was delivered in collaboration with Bank of Ireland, the project’s main funder, alongside Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, the Housing Agency, the Department of Housing and developer KavCo. The scheme highlights the importance of strong partnership working between approved housing bodies, funders, local authorities and delivery partners in bringing new homes from concept to completion.
Welcoming partners to Bentley Villas, Oaklee CEO Sharon Cosgrove highlighted:
“At Oaklee, our purpose is to deliver homes that help people and communities live, thrive and prosper. Seeing these homes finished and occupied brings that purpose to life.
The real achievement goes beyond construction and milestones; it is realised when residents move in and a house becomes a home. Bentley Villas is already coming to life, and I want to thank Bank of Ireland, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, KavCo, the Housing Agency, the Department of Housing, local councillors, and everyone who supported this project. It is a strong example of what can be achieved through collaboration and shared commitment.”
Bank of Ireland Engagement at Bentley Villas
Senior representatives from Bank of Ireland joined Oaklee and partners for the walkthrough of Bentley Villas, underlining the Bank’s commitment to supporting the delivery of social and affordable housing. Their presence on the day reflected the strength of the partnership behind the scheme and Bank of Ireland’s commitment to supporting housing delivery through long-term investment and engagement.
John Feeney, CEO, Corporate & Commercial Banking, Bank of Ireland, attended the event alongside Maurice Healy, Head of Social & Affordable Housing, Corporate & Commercial Banking. Bank of Ireland’s wider Social & Affordable Housing team also took part in the morning’s programme.
“Bank of Ireland is committed to supporting housing delivery across Ireland, backed by a €1 billion fund for up to 15,000 social and affordable homes as part of our new strategic cycle to 2028,” said John Feeney.
“Our Social & Affordable Housing team shared Oaklee’s vision and ambition for the Bentley scheme, which enabled us to provide funding for 39 new homes within five weeks of agreeing terms. As a leading Approved Housing Body, Oaklee continues to deliver quality homes for families across Ireland through close collaboration with all its partners.”
An Cathaoirleach Marks Bentley Villas Completion
Oaklee was also pleased to welcome representatives of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council to Bentley Villas, including attendance by An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Jim Gildea, helping to mark the occasion and recognise the importance of partnership in delivering new homes within the county.
The involvement of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council reflects the collaborative approach that underpinned the scheme from planning through to completion and occupation. Bentley Villas demonstrates what can be achieved when local authorities, approved housing bodies, funders and delivery partners work together to respond to identified housing need and support the development of sustainable communities.
Cllr Jim Gildea, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said:
“These 39 new homes demonstrate the strong partnership between Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown County Council and Oaklee in providing high‑quality homes in sustainable locations.
Developments such as Bentley Villas play an important role in meeting identified housing need, supporting people to move off the housing list, while also strengthening our town centres and local communities.
We are delighted to welcome the new residents to Bentley Villas and to see this project brought from plan to reality. I would like to thank Oaklee and all delivery partners for their commitment and collaboration in delivering these much‑needed homes.”
Developer of Bentley Villas, KavCo stated:
“It’s great to see Bentley Villas come full circle, from initial design through to completion. This is a true regeneration project, delivering high-quality homes in a well-connected part of Dublin.
At KavCo Group, we are focused on consistently delivering quality schemes like this, with over 1,000 homes currently in our pipeline across Dublin over the next two to three years.”
With residents now settling into their new homes, Bentley Villas is already beginning to come to life as a new community.
